It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ross Patey announces his peaceful passing at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday April 15, 2019 at the age of 86 years. Born at Middle Barachois, Ross was the son of the late Robert and Annie (nee Osmond) Patey. He was also predeceased by his daughter Susan Drake in October of 2014, grandson Derek Patey in 2018, brothers George Patey, Norman Patey (Jane), sisters; Mary Hodder (Alexander), Gertrude Patey, mother and father in law and many brothers and sisters in law. Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving and devoted wife Gertrude (nee Keeping) of 66 years. He will also be forever loved and missed by his children; Annie Patey of Port aux Basques, Russell Patey (Shirley), Elizabeth Hurlbert (Donnie) all of Yarmouth, NS, Loretta Osmond (Chris), Alice Patey all of Port aux Basques, Gladys Martell (Blair) of Halifax NS, and Stephen Patey of Port aux Basques. 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister Emily Short and brother Isaac (Nora) Patey all of Cape Ray. Sisters in law; Ruth LeRiche of Port aux Basques, Minnie Paddock (Charlie) of Yarmouth NS and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation taking place on Tuesday from 7-9 pm, continuing on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services taking place on Thursday April 18, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Deacon Kay Osmond, interment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Ross can be made to the charity of one's choice.
