Obituary

Our lives were forever changed on October 1st, 2024, when we lost our beloved husband, father and grandfather, William (Bill) Parsons, at the age of 78. Born in Cul De Sac, Bill was the son of the late William "Bill" and Mary Parsons (nee Gibson). He is also predeceased by his father in-law, Bernard Alley; brothers and sister, Gerald, Joe, Muriel and Marilyn, and waiting for him at rainbow bridge was Lady and Paris.

With many loving memories, Bill leaves behind his devoted wife, of 30 years, Gwen (nee Alley); his children, Dean (Catherine), Dwayne (Shannon), Paul, Devon and Melissa; grandson; Jessie. He will be dearly missed by his brother, Richard (Donna); sister, Sandra (Robert); mother in-law, Geraldine Alley; sisters and bother in-law, Marie, Diane (Danny), and Barry (Verna); and his fur babies, Champ, Eiffel, London, and Paris.

Bill enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was going for long walks with his dogs or simply immersing himself in nature. He had a zest for life and embraced lively debates, never backing down even when he knew he was wrong.

His career as a bartender on the Marine Atlantic ferries brought him immense joy. Even after retiring from his beloved job, he continued to find fulfillment in working, refusing to let his passion fade away until his health forced him to slow down. He was known for his kindness and generosity. He always went the extra mile to make those around him happy, finding joy in bringing smiles to people's faces. Above all, his family held a special place in his heart. He cherished every moment spent with them and took great pride in his Scottish heritage.

In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcomed to visit on Saturday, October 5th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road. The funeral will take place on Sunday, October 6th, 2024 at 1:30 PM, from East Haven Funeral Home Inc., officiated by Rev. Joshua Haggstrom. Internment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations in Bill's memory can be made to the family. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, 695-2300 www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
