January 9, 1947 – September 4, 2024

Our lives were forever changed on Wednesday, September 4th 2024 with the unexpected passing of our father, grandfather and friend, Walter Junior Poole at the age of 77 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Walter was the son of the late Walter and Caroline Poole (nee Foote).

He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his son Brian Poole, Brian's mother Linda Sheaves and his cherished grandchildren Isaac and Jody Poole. He will also be missed by a large extended family of nieces and nephews as well as good friends.

Walter was the last remaining member of his family being predeceased by his siblings; Alma Short, John Matthew Poole, Elizabeth (Betty) Keeping, Ruby Husden, Barbara Thompson and Donna Poole.

Walter was a simple man who loved to garden above all things. His son and his grandchildren were his world. His passing leaves a noticeable emptiness in their lives.

In keeping with Walter's wishes, cremation has taken place.  Family and friends are welcomed to visit on Tuesday September 10th and Wednesday September 11th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at East Haven Funeral Home, 57 Grand Bay Road. Internment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be to the family in Walter's memory.
