Obituary

As we reflect on the life of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend our memories of you are what we will hold in our hearts forever. On Wednesday February 1, 2017 the world lost a kind and gentle man as our beloved Walter James Kettle left us way too soon at the age of 73 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Walter was the son of the late Cyril and Olive Kettle, he was also predeceased by his father in law Frederick Walters, brothers in law Gordon Hatch and Charlie Matthews. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories his devoted wife Nancy (nee Walters) of 52 wonderful years. A proud father, he will be lovingly missed by his children Karen Kettle (David Gibb) of Toronto ON, Randy Kettle (Caroline Allen) of Toronto Ontario, Kim Kettle (Chris Devereaux) of MacDougall's. Poppy will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren Amber Kettle and Riley Kettle who meant the world to him. His love for his siblings will always be a reminder to his sisters and brothers that he is never far away from them. Pauline Matthews (Tom Lawrence), Brenda Anderson (Bert), Kevin Kettle (Joyce) and Kenny Kettle will always have many wonderful memories of their big brother that will always keep them close in heart. Walter will also be fondly missed by his mother in law Julie Walters, sister in law Sylvia Hatch and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many wonderful and dear friends. Walter was an avid outdoors man, he loved to hunt and salmon fish and spent many hours doing so. After retiring he and Nancy moved to their second home in MacDougall's and this is where he was happiest. His smile was contagious and lit up the room and anyone who was lucky enough to have been blessed by having Walter in their lives, soon found that they had a friend for life. In keeping with Walters wishes cremation has taken place, The family will be receiving friends at East Haven Funeral Home on Saturday February 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday February 5, 2 pm at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev.
