It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Walter Durnford at the age of 76 years, at the Long Term Care Facility in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Walter had a 14 year battle with Alzheimer's and is finally at peace. With heavy hearts he leaves to mourn his loving wife and caretaker of 33 years Eileen (nee Seymour). He was predeceased by his parents; Susanna and Gilbert Durnford (nee Carter), sisters; Susie and Ann, and in-laws; Maggie and Eli Seymour.

Walter leaves to mourn his sisters; Mildred Evans (Jim), Mary Woodfield (Rick), Linda Durnford, and brothers; Gilbert, Frank and Ben, his in-laws; Claude Seymour (Maude), Eli Seymour (Carolyn), Reg Seymour, Nate Seymour (Dolly), Roy Seymour (Leone), Wayne Seymour (Grace), George Seymour, Colleen Hardiman (Gary). Walter also leaves to mourn his son; Jason and step-daughters; Sandra Howell (Todd), Janet Doyle (Robert), Erica LeRiche (James), and Sheila Reynolds (Robert). Walter also leaves behind a number of grandchildren; Nicholas, Jaimie, Brandon, Ashley, Joshua, Jonah, Sarah and Maggie, great- grandchildren; Louise, Ben, Camilla, Jovi, Brooks and Alexander.

Eileen would like to thank the caregivers at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility, for all of the wonderful compassion they gave to Walter over the past 7 years. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's memory be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, 835 Topsail Road, Unit 107, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 3J6.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 6 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 7 ^th , at 2 p.m. from East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH. Due to the latest Government regulations your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo ID and masks are required for entry to the visitation and church service.
