Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Vera Winnifred Bragg (nee Seymour), announces her peaceful passing In Isle-aux-Morts on October 30th 2024, at the age of 89 years. Vera was born in Isle-aux-Morts, NL, She was the daughter of the late John and Julia Seymour. She was also predeceased by her loving husband, Melvin Bragg, grandchild Jonathan Bragg, her brother's in-law Cyril Bragg and James Bragg, son in-law; Johnny Lawrence, father and mother in-law James and Abigail Bragg; sisters and brother's in-law, Aggie (Wesley) Coleman, Naomi (Johnny) Ball, Maude (Eric) Tapp, Theresa (Eli) LeFrense, Susanna (Angus) MacDonald, Mildred (Jack) Carroll, sister Elsie Billard and brother Garfield Seymour

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children, Melvin (Joann), Avalyn (Ray), Sylvia (Barry), Jerome (Viola), Gussie (Gary), Ralph (Tracey) and Jim (Peggy); 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren plus a very large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Vera was a sweet lady with a heart of gold. Her home was open to everyone. She had the remarkable ability to feed a large group of people with seemingly minimal resources. She loved having company and receiving visitors, finding immense joy in having her table surrounded by loved ones.

She possessed remarkable skills as a seamstress. Her talent for sewing wedding gowns and dresses was very much recognized. She had other hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, bingo, cards, and watching game shows.

Her true happiness stemmed from her beloved family. She worried about Everyone. She will be remembered by family and friends by the words "Call me when you get home!"

Vera's family would like to thank everyone who cared for her with such compassion and tenderness. It certainly did not go unnoticed. A very special thank you to Denise Skinner and Charmaine Hatcher for their patience and charm in keeping their mother "smiling" as they cared for her.
