It is with great sadness the family of the late Sid Roberts announce his peaceful passing at his residence in Port aux Basques on Thursday, March 11 ^th , 2021 at the age of 85 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Sid was the son of the late Stanley Sr. and Martha Jane Roberts (nee Ford). H e was also predeceased by his brother, Stanley Jr., baby sister, Marina, nephew, Robert Avery, father and mother-in-law, Sandy and Mary Hodder, and brother s -in-law, Alex Hodder, Clarence Hodder.

Sid l eaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving partner of 35 years Bet t y Kettle, brother, Joseph W (Yvonne) Roberts, sister, Mary (Herman) Avery, s ister-in-law, Viola Roberts. nieces and nephews, Kevin, Annette, Aaron, Tony, and Joanne. Sid also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Clayton (Shirley) Hodder, Eric (Alma) Hodder, Wilson (Lillian) Hodder, W ayne (Bonnie) Hodder, sisters-in-law; Marie Hodder, Anne Hodder, Bernice (Don) Hodder, Maisie ( Bob ) Bushell, Cedella Hodder, Elizabeth Hodder plus a wide circle of loving family, neighbors and friends.

Sid was well known in the local area for his 39 years of service with Beauchamp's Hardware and later years as salesman with Jean's Garage. He was well admired for his witty sense of humor, his canvas paintings and boat building skills . For all who knew Sid, his greatest love in life was Betty. She was his best friend, his caregiver, and his joy at the end of each day.

V isitation will be held on Saturday, March 13 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will be held from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Grand Bay-Port aux Basques on Sunday, March 14 ^th at 1 1 a.m. officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Sid's memory can be made to the charity of one's choice .
