It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Shirley Currie Bragg (nee Butler ) announce h er peaceful passing at her residence in Port aux Basques, NL on Thursday, January 6 ^th , 2022 at the age of 87 years. Born in Port aux Basques , NL, Shirley was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie Butler (nee Currie). She was also predeceased by her daughter; Ruby Mattheson, son; Jack Bragg, sisters; June (John) Prosser, Ruby (Harry) Pretty, father and mother-in-law; George and Ethie Bragg, brothers-in-law; Wesley Bragg, Dexter (Hugette), Rupert (Ann) Bragg, sisters-in-law; Hilda (Reginald) Power and Ivy (Andrew) Briggs.

She leaves behind with many fond and precious memories her loving husband of 67 years; Bob Bragg of Port aux Basques, NL, daughter, Cindy (John) Bragg Pesco, daughter-in-law; Rose-Lee (House) Bragg, son-in-law; Ken Mattheson, grandchildren; Danny (Shannon) Bragg, Nikki (Robbie) Anderson; great-grandchildren; Hailey, Charley, Benjamin and James.

Shirley also leaves behind her home support worker; Veronica Harvey, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

In keeping with Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10 ^th , 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. a t East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. Due to the latest Government regulations your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo ID, masks and social distancing are required for entry to the visitation. There will be a memorial service on Friday, July 1 ^st , 2022 at the Wesley United Church, Channel-Port aux Basques at 2 p.m. officiated by Joan Chaisson. Interment to follow at the Wesley United Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association of Canada, 860 Topsail Rd, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 3W4.
