It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Roland Barnes announces his passing at the Mountain Hope Manor in Port aux Basques, NL on Friday, November 1 ^st , 2019 at the age of 84 years. Born in Harbour Mille, NL, Roland was the son of the late Margaret and Loven Barnes (nee Rideout ). He was also predeceased by his wife Ethel Barnes (nee Thomas ) in 2018; father an d mot h er-in-law George and Clara Thomas (nee Foote) ; brother Arthur Barnes ; son-in-law Brian Pike; sisters Clara Pardy , Ellen Pardy , Beatrice (Arthur) Taverner ; sisters-in-law Ella Munden, Ann Thomas , bothers- in-law Arthur Thomas and Lloyd Thomas.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories h is loving daughters Christa (Walter) Osmond of Cape Ray, NL, Lillian Pike of Port aux Basques, NL, Carolia (Leo) Connolly of Dartmouth, NS; granddaughters Denise (Shannon) Ryan of O'Regan's, NL, Jody Lefrense of Dartmouth, NS; grandson Alex Osmond of Cape Ray, NL; great grandsons Cody of Dartmouth, NS, Grayson of O'Regan's, NL; great granddaughters Ashley, and Madison both of Dartmouth, NS; great-great grandson Jayce of Dartmouth, NS; sister Rhoda Barnes; brother Willoughby (Mae) Barnes both of North Sydney, NS; brother-in-law Llewellyn Munden; sisters-in-law Marie Thomas, Stella (Dale) Barnes all of Port aux Basques, NL plus many nieces, nephews, family and special friends and staff of the Mountain Hope Manor which were considered to be family from where Roland resided

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2 ^nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Sunday, November 3 ^rd from 2-4 and 7-9pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc in Port aux Basques, NL. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4 ^th at 11 am from the St. John The Evangelist Church in Cape Ray, NL officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin, interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations in Roland's memory could be made to the family.
