It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Rita Alice Lomond announce h er p assing at the St. Joseph Hospital in Toronto, ON, on Thursday , March 2 ^nd , 2023 at the age of 81 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Rita was the daughter of the late Arthur Russell a nd Violet Farrell (nee Walters). Sh e was also predeceased by h er husband, Jim Lomond; father and mother-in-law; Maxwell and Ivy Lomond (nee Lillington), brothers; Hubert Walters, Lenny Farrell and Gerald Farrell; sisters in-law ; Lillian (Bill) Hickey , Alfreda (Wilbur) Wells , brothers in-law ; Maxwell (Rebecca) Lomond, Philip Lomond and Robert Lomond.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son; Gerald Lomond of Toronto, ON, granddaughters; Jasmine (Brent) Sangster, Jecinda Lomond; great grandchild, Torvi; sister, Cassie (Hubert) Childs of Toronto, ON; brothers in-law, George Lomond (Gladys) of PEI, Richard (Regina) Lomond of Nova Scotia; sisters in-law, Ivy (Bernie) Benoit of Doyles, NL, Linda Lomond of Port aux Basques, NL and Heather Farrell of Miramichi NB plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

I n keeping with Rita 's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date. I n lieu of f lowers, donations in Rita's memory can be made to the St. James Anglican Church .
