Our lives were forever changed on Friday July 5th, 2024 with the peaceful passing of our father, grand father, brother and friend, Rex Hayman at the age of 68 years. Born in Isle aux Morts, Rex was the son of the late Walter, of Fox Roost, and Alvina, of Isle aux Morts Hayman.

He leaves to morn his loving sons Matthew Hayman and Hughie (Kristen) Smith, grand children; Michael Hayman, Freyja Peyton-Hayman, Ellaline Smith and Roman Smith, who were his world. He also leaves to morn his only living sibling, Walter Hayman.

Rex was a proud poppy who's grandchildren called Grampie. He was a man that made friends with anybody and everybody.

His sons would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his home-care workers Maisie and Cindy, without whom Rex would have had a much harder life. They would also like to thank the staff and Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre. Their father praised them beyond measure for their care and the friendships he made over the years.

In keeping with Rex's wishes cremation has taken place and an interment will take place at St. James Cemetery, High Street, at 7pm on Tuesday July 9th, 2024 officiated by Rev. Fay Coffin.  In lieu of flowers donations are graciously accepted by the family, or can be made to the Mental Health Association of NL.
