It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Mary Ann Rosalie Barry on February 8th, 2026 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 53 years. Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Wilhelmina and William Barry and was also predeceased by her sister Dorothy; niece Shianne; and nephews Kyle and Charles.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her foster mom and aunt, Agnes Penny; her brothers Charles (Maureen) from Stephenville, and Leo from Irishtown; uncles Edward and Joe (Marcy) ; aunt Bridget (Archie) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Heartfelt thanks are extended to her devoted home care workers Rona, Lavinia, and Doreen who will also deeply miss Mary Ann's presence.

Mary Ann lived her life with a childlike joy and a heart open to the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She experienced the world in her own unique way, finding delight in moments that others might overlook. She especially loved swinging on swings, feeling the freedom and rhythm of the motion, and going for car rides, where she could watch the world pass by with quiet contentment. Mary Ann's gentle spirit, kind nature, and sincere enjoyment of life touched those around her and will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are welcome to visit St, Ann's Parish in Upper Ferry Codroy for a short viewing on February 11th, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 A.M with funeral service to follow at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Mount St Thomas Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, 57 Grand Bay Road, 709-695-2300.
