It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Marion Strickland announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 at the at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques NL at the age of 89 years, with her loving family by her side. Born in Rose Blanche, NL, to the late George and Harriett Herritt. She was also predeceased by her daughter Shelia; infant children Harvey and Sharon; parents in-law John Strickland and Francis Rideout (Tommy Anderson); brother and sister Clyde (Marie) and Emily (Bob); brothers and sisters in-laws, Max, Annette (Jim), Jess (Arch) and Howard.

She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving husband of nearly 71 years, Leslie; her children; Gord (Phyllis), Randy (Pauline), Kevin, Jason (Twyla), Derrek, and Dennis (Shelley); son in-law, Jim; grandchildren; Steve, Craig, Drew, Latoya, Jamie, and Stephanie; and 4 precious great grandchildren, Max, Sadie, Jayden and Kyle.

She will also be missed by her sister Ethel; brother Clayton (Rita); brothers and sisters in-law, Levi (Margaret), Aubrey (Harriett), Alfreda, and Ann (Lewis).

Marion was a truly beautiful person not just in appearance but also in her kind heart. She always greeted others with a warm smile making everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Family meant everything to her and she cherished every moment spent with them. As a dedicated member of the Salvation Army church she volunteered for many years at the thrift store helping those in need. Marion also loved going on adventures exploring new places and creating wonderful memories with her loved ones.

In keeping with Marion's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday January 15th, 2 PM at Salvation Army Church, Grand Bay officiated by Captain Harvey. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Donations in Marion's memory can be made to the Salvation Army Church.
