Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Margaret Jessie Fraser announce her peaceful passing at the age of 98, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow with her loving grand-daughter Patti by her side. Margaret was the daughter of the late James and Julia Carter, and was also predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; daughter Linda; grandson Darren; brothers Isaac, Robert, Eric and Max; sisters Pearl, Maude, twin sister Dolly and Mary; sister in law Barbara Toutloff.

Margaret was the last survivng member of her immediate family; she leaves to mourn her children, Bob (Elaine), Jim (Jean), Barbra (Bill Sutton) and Dave (Emma), grandchildren and great grandchildren, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Also, family from Halifax, who call faithfully for updates on her care.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her past homecare workers, the compassionate staff at Mountain Hope Manor, the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at LeGrow Health Centre, for the care, kindness, and love shown to Margaret.

Prior to age-related limitations, Margaret was an active and devoted member of her church and proudly sang with the St. James' Anglican Choir. She was also deeply involved with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 11 Ladies Auxiliary, serving faithfully as president, vice president, and long-time member. As a proud Legion member, she carried a strong sense of service and commitment to her community and country. A faithful pillar of her church, she gave her time and heart freely, and her voice, raised in song for so many years, brought comfort and praise to all who listened.

Margaret lived a long and generous life, shaped by quiet devotion and simple joys. Well known around town, Margaret was a familiar and cherished presence at her weekly Saturday hair appointments at Wanda's Beauty Salon, where friendships were formed and laughter was shared. At 98 years of age, Margaret leaves behind a lasting legacy of kindness, faith, and steadfast love that will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
