Marcella
Kendell
Apr 4, 1948 — May 19, 2026
Woodville, NL
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marcella Rose Kendell on May 19, 2026 at the age of 78. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of so many. She was predeceased by her husband Elias Kendell; mother Doris Anderson; brother Leo Anderson; and son-in-law Jason Thompson.
Marcella leaves to mourn her daughters Barbara; Marilyn, Nora and grandchildren Matthew, Colby, Mitcheal, Kyra, Jayden and Jaxon. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters Marg and Joan and her dear friend Mary as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to caring for her family and ensuring that those she loved always had what they needed. She gave selflessly of her time, love, and support, and could always be counted on in times of need. Her caring heart, gentle spirit, and dependable nature made her a source of comfort and strength to everyone around her especially her daughters and grandchildren.
Marcella found joy in life’s simple blessings — taking walks, berry picking, playing cards, attending church functions, and spending cherished time visiting with family and friends. Marcella treasured these moments and created lasting memories through her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. She was a dedicated member of the A.C. W, her church as well the Oceanside Seniors 50 + Club. She also loved attending the Harvest Festival as well as baking goods for the fall sale. She spent months each year with her daughters in Alberta though she thoroughly enjoyed the summers at home in NL doing things that she loved.
Her sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her love, compassion, and the countless ways she has cared for others will remain forever in our memories.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 27th at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity Church in Codroy, officiated by Rev. Cannon Joshua Haggstrom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Cemetery Fund.
Forever in our hearts
