A true man of the coast, he spent his entire career with Marine Atlantic. But when he wasn't working and after his retirement, he was likely trekking through the rugged beauty of Green Gardens or Stag Hill, where the quiet of the woods matched his own reserved nature. He was a man of few words but great capability, evidenced by the home he built with his own two hands—a testament of devotion to his wife, Rita. Despite his quiet demeanor, a different energy took over when the music started or the cards were dealt. He was a natural on the dance floor, and during a game of Wes, his competitive spirit would shine through in a signature move: a firm, punctuating hit of his fist against the table as he laid his cards down, letting the wood speak for the victory he didn't need to announce.

In keeping with Malcolm's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome to visit at East Haven Funeral Home on Monday, March 9th, 2026, from 7-9 pm.
