It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Lorraine Lillian (Read) Anderson announces her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie Read. She was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Arthur and Sarah (Sadie) Anderson, husband Gerald; daughter Sharon; sisters Clara (Wallace) Rose, Mildred Read, Gertrude (Ralph) Farrell; brother Maxwell (Alma) Read; sister Thelma (George) Piccott; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Martin Harvey, Harry, Lloyd, James (Maureen), and Ron (Carmel) Anderson.

Leaving to mourn with many fond and precious memories her son Arthur (Sharon) Anderson of Cape Ray, NL, son in-law Dave (Geraldine) Standing; sister Geraldine Harvey of Port aux Basques, NL, sister-in-law Maxine Anderson of Manuels, NL; grandchildren Tanya (Jamie) Pope of Labrador City, NL, Arthena Anderson, Denise (Brian) Standing, Melissa (Jamie) Herridge, all of Port aux Basques, NL, great grandchildren Blake (Daniel) Pope of Corner Brook, NL, Brooke Pope, Shannon Anderson Angel, Jessica McDonald, Katie and Rory Musseau, plus a large circle of nephews and nieces, special friends Harry and Judy Coates of Millville, Codroy Valley, NL, Dave and Carol Blacklock of Fredericton, NB; special cousin Claudine Matthews, plus many friends who she shared many an outings at the 50 Plus Club, her cottage friends and many more friends.

Lorraine was a real social butterfly. She loved going out, socializing, meeting new people, and having people over for a hot meal or just to have a yarn. She loved her grandchildren dearly.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday July 19th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will be held on July 20th at 11 AM from East Haven Funeral Home Inc. 57 Grand Bay Road, in Port aux Basques, officiated by Joan Chaisson  with internment to follow at Wesley United Cemetery, TCH.
