It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lilia Florence Neil (nee Thorne) announces her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family on Saturday May 27, at Dr. Charles Legrow Health Center at the age of 82 years. Born in Burnt Islands, Lilia was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Effie J Thorne (nee Marsden). Lilia was also predeceased by her loving husband Eric in 2010 and her daughter Margaret in 2013, sons in law; Roderick Payne and Dale Boivin, sisters; Ada, Priscilla, Bethina, brother Chesley and many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Left with a lifetime of precious memories are Lilia's 7 daughters; Loretta (Minter) Walters, Diane (Alfred) Taylor all of Burnt Islands, Erica (Brett) Walker of Ontario, Annette (Clayton) Vardy of Isle aux Morts, Ada (John) Robbins of Ontario, Lydia (Kenny) Thorne of Burnt Islands and Florence Boivin (Jamie) of Isle aux Morts. A proud grandmother and great grandmother, she will also be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren,; Felicia, Alfred, Quentin, Amelia, Blair W., Roderick, Blair T., Jessica, Eric, John, Tamara, Kendra, Geneva, Kirkland and 11 great grandchildren. She will forever remain in the hearts of her sisters; Gladys Dowe of Halifax NS, Frances Jane Enwood of Burnt Islands, Carmen (Harry) Skinner of Port aux Basques, Margaret Savoury of Burnt Islands, Christine Hayward of Corner Brook, brothers in law; Austin (Eileen) Neil Lawrence Town NS, George Billard (Linda Horwood) of Rose Blanche and a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Visitation taking place on Sunday May 28 from 7-9 pm and Monday May 29 form 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts from where the funeral service will place on Tuesday May 30, 2 pm officiated by Rev. Maryrose Colbourne and co-officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten. Internment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road.
