John Hezekiah
Munden
Jun 22, 1945 — Jun 3, 2024
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late John Hezekiah Munden announce his peaceful passing on Monday June 3rd, 2024 at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre with his brother Wilfred by his side, at the age of 78 years. Born in Rose Blanche, NL John was the son of the late Edward (Teddy) Sr. and Maria (nee Parsons) Munden. He was also predeceased by his brother Edward (Junior) Munden; and sisters Martha (Jim) Styles and Georgina (Wilson) Butler.
John will be forever missed and remembered by his brothers; Arthur (Diane), Harry (Tammy), Albert (Lena), and Wilfred (Lori); sister, Susie (Norman) Seymour; and sister in-law, Melida Munden, plus a large circle of nieces and nephews.
He was a hard-working man who fished on the open water since he was old enough to be put aboard the boat. Skipper of the Dwayne and Roxanne he later joined Wilfred on the Lori and Corey and together they caught the 'one that didn't get away'; a 490 lb halibut. If you didn't see John at the warf, he was probably in the kitchen where he loved to cook and bake pies, always proudly proclaiming that he had mudders recipe.
The family will be forever thankful and appreciative of the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre. The care and kindness given to John will be forever remembered by his family.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, June 6th and Friday, June 7th 2024 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at St. Michael's and All Angels Church in Rose Blanche NL.
