It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Thomas Hilliard announce his peaceful passing on Friday, November 26 ^th , 2021 at his residence in Cape Anguille, NL at the age of 95 years. Born in Low Brook , NL, John was the son of the late George and Annie Hilliard (nee Gallop). He was also predeceased by his adopted son; Amos Collier, granddaughter; Tracy Hilliard, great-granddaughter; Isabella Janes, brothers; Emmanuel Hilliard, Cyril Hilliard, sister; Jessie (James) Samms, father and mother-in-law; Henry and Annie Collier (nee Smith), brothers-in-law; James (Meta) Collier, Thomas (Blanche) Collier, Joseph Collier, Charles (Elizabeth) Collier, Clifford (Dulsie) Collier, Augustus Downey, Arch Parsons, sisters-in-law; Mary (Joe) Cogan, Elizabeth (James) Gale, Pearl (George) Samms. a nd Susan (Thomas) Hilliard.

He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his wife of 70 years; Alma Hilliard (nee Collier) . He will fondly missed by his children; Laura (Raymond) Janes of Corner Brook, NL, Elizabeth (David) Evans of Codroy, NL, Benjamin (Kim) Hilliard, Douglas (Louise) Hilliard both of Cape Anguille, NL, Ann Marie (David) Turpin of Corner Brook, NL, and Jamie (Shelly) Hilliard of Codroy, NL. John will remain forever in the hearts of his loving grandchildren; Rick (Amanda) Janes, Raylene (Craig) Rogers, Rodger Hilliard, Erica Hilliard, Nicole Collier, great-grandchildren; Zackery Rogers, Deon Rogers, Lilaraye Janes, Annabelle Janes.

John also leaves behind his sister; Georgina (Jim) Taylor of Codroy, NL, sisters-in-law; Florence Collier, Vivian Osmond, Blanche Downey, beloved extended family; Mona Collier, Walter (Anna) Collier, Chris (Tracy) Collier, Tyler Blake, Ernest (Greta) Collier, and their families, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 30 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy, NL. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 1 ^st at 2 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin and Rev. George C ritchell . The funeral service will be invitation only. Due to the latest Government regulations your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo ID and masks are required for entry to the visitation and church service. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery in Codroy. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in John's memory can be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
