Burnt Islands
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late John Charles Caines announce his sudden passing on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the age of 81 years. Born in Burnt Islands, Newfoundland and Labrador, on January 12, 1945, John was the son of the late Edgar and Lily Caines (née Keeping). He was also predeceased by his brother Edgar Caines, and good friend Lorne Keeping.

He was also a member of the Orange Lodge for many many years.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories are his brothers and sisters, Douglas, Harold (Beverly), Beulah (Wayne), Edith, Allister (Della), and Colin (Michelle), along with a very large circle of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and good friends George Croucher, Reg Seymour and Jim keeping, as well as many friends and fisherman community who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are welcome to visit Monday, July 13, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 14, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, Burnt Islands.
