Joan Hilliard passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on November 27th, 2020 at the age of 60 after a short, brave battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 40 years, Mike, her three children, Tammy (Paul), Vanessa (Chaulkie) and Matthew (Jessica), her sister, Juanita (Andy), close friend, Rhea (Albert) and the loves of her life, her five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Reid, Sadie, Sawyer and Jack as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Joan had a zest for life that was contagious. Her positive, giggly personality lit up every room she entered. She was adored by anyone who knew her. She spread joy and happiness wherever she went. Throughout her short battle with cancer, her bravery was astonishing. She fought hard to stay here with her family. This strength and selflessness were true attributes of her beautiful personality. She lived her life putting her full heart into everything she did and everyone she loved. She was one of a kind and she will be remembered, cherished and deeply missed every single day.

In keeping with Joan's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Joan's life will take place on Tuesday, December 1st, at 11 am from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Codroy officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin. Interment will follow at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Cemetery. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations in Joan's memory can be made to the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre.
