It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and partner. As a young toddler, Jeanne arrived in Halifax from England, at Pier 21, with her mother Betty Wilson. Starting with a childhood in Southern Ontario, Jeanne lived most of her adult life surrounded by the beauty of Northern Ontario. In her last five years the Atlantic was calling her back home. Newfoundland gave her the view of the water and, for Jeanne, the land touched her soul. Jeanne was an avid gardener, she loved her flowers and she was known for her famous Orchids, a flower that she could make grow in any climate. Her love of the earth and landscape was evident in that she recycled anything and everything, she would never let anything go to waste. Jeanne spent many hours making her house into a home and being a perfectionist made her home as comfortable as it still is today. She would also spend many hours in the upstairs bedroom window just staring at Rose Blanche Lighthouse. She professed to have the best view of the lighthouse in Rose Blanche. She never stopped doing things for others and could often be found making apple pies, bread and cookies for Morgan which she always enjoyed. After her move to Newfoundland in 2010 she could be often heard saying that she moved "From Away To Here" and this is where her beautiful soul was happiest. Jeanne is survived by many family members and 5 grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her common law partner Morgan Taylor, his mother Hannah Taylor, his children; Morgan, Dana (Andrew) Taylor, Dara Taylor, grandchildren Abigail and Chantelle, close friends Sabina Keeping, Diane Munden, Maxine Edwards, Marlene Williams, Regis Cornell, Elaine and Raymond Lauzon, Pearce Spicer and anyone and everyone whom she met. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation taking place this evening form 7-9 pm at St. Michael's And All Angels Anglican Church in Rose Blanche, from where the funeral service will take place on Tuesday June 20, 2 pm officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten, internment will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
