It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late James (Jimmy) English announces his passing on Sunday October 19th, 2025 at the age of 77 years. Born in Codroy Valley, NL, James was the son of the late Rodrick John English and was raised by his grandmother Catherine English.  He was also predeceased by his sisters Louise (Frank) and Marie (Anthony); brothers Carl and Charles; niece Peggy Sue and nephew Darren. Waiting for him at rainbow bridge was Daisy, his faithful companion.

He leaves to mourn with fond memories his brothers John (Alice), David, and Gary; sister in-law Audrey; nieces Laura, Lorna, Sarah, and Tonya; nephews Jay, Wesley, Matthew, and Carl; plus a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Everyone in town knew Jimmy—always seen riding his bike with a smile, stopping to share a friendly word with everyone he met. His kindness and easy-going spirit touched many, and his deep love for animals was well known to all who knew him. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his friends, neighbors, and the entire community.

Special thanks to the staff at Mountain Hope Manor for the care and compassion given to Jimmy while residing there.

In keeping with Jimmy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome to visit East haven Funeral Home to pay respects on Monday October 27th, 1-3PM. There will be a funeral service at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church Tuesday October 28th at 2PM with internment to follow at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, NL, info@easthavenfuneralhome.com (709)-695-2300 www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
