Guitar Shredder, BBQ Master, Button-Masher Extraordinaire.

On August 28, 2025, James Cyril Ryan finally rage-quit life at Level 43, proving once and for all, that even the best gamers eventually run out of lives. Born on the spookiest of days Friday the 13th Jim's arrival immediately put the universe on notice. From the moment he could hold a game controller, or a guitar pick, it was clear he was going to live life on his terms.

He was the beloved son of Gary K. Ryan and Sharon "Sherrye" Ryan, and proud older brother to Ashleigh V. Ryan.  As a Military BRAT, Jim was raised mostly in NB, AB, ON & NL.  He made his final respawn in Newfoundland in 2025, where his heart truly belonged. Named after his two grandfathers James R. Seel of Ajax, ON and the late Cyril J. Ryan of O'Regan's, NL Jim carried both their names and their humour with pride. He is also survived by his legendary grandmother Matilda (Tilly) Ryan, who will likely outlive us all!

A man of many talents whether it was helping people with computer issues or his cartoon doodles, creativity coursed through him. When things in life didn't quite work out he'd just say "whatever" which seemed to be his life motto. Jim had many loves, among them friends, flings, food and guitars.

He leaves behind an extended clan of aunts, uncles, and cousins across the country.  Also left behind are many gamer friends throughout the world. They too, will all miss xKYJellyFishx and his hearty laugh.

In true Jim fashion, no formal service is planned. Instead, at 4:20 gather your friends, fire up the grill, crank the tunes, and raise a glass to a man who gamed boldly and loved fiercely.

Game over, Jim, but what a game it was.
