It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Irene May Billard (nee Coombs) announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Hospital in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Born in Gaultois, NL, Irene was the daughter of the late James and Emma Coombs (nee Matchem). She was also predeceased by her husband Robert Frederick Billard in 2006; father and mother-in-law William and Susie Billard; son Robert Bryan; sisters Lavinia Keeping, Alice Abbot, Triffie Coombs; sisters-in-law Dorothy Billard, Minnie Hulan; brothers-in-law William Billard, Roy Coffin, and Harold Abbott

She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her loving children Claude (Verna) Billard of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Pauline Billard-Vizer (Joe) of Brandon, MB, Susan Billard, Keith (Margie) Billard both of Port aux Basques, NL; grandchildren Sandy Saunders, David (Rocky) (Diane) Ford, Steven Ford, Danny Billard, David Billard; great-grandchildren Clinton Saunders, Cody Saunders, Brody Ford, Dillion Billard, Cooper Ford, Chelsea Ford, Grayson Billard, Teegan Billard, Addison Billard; great-great-granddaughter Paige Saunders; sisters Rose (Allan) Clouther of Fortune, NL, Molly (Clarenece) Norman of St. John's, NL; brothers Alex (Gladys) Coombs of St. Albans, NL; sisters-in-law Edith Coffin of Port aux basques, NL. Irene also leaves behind very close friend Jessie Collier, friends at the Mountain Hope Manor from where she resided to for the past eight years plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 15th.from 7-9 pm and Monday, September 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 17th at 2 pm from Wesley United Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Joan Chaisson, interment will follow at Wesley United Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Irene can be made to the Wesley United Church.
