It is with great sadness, that the family of the late Hughie Gale announces his passing surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 14, at Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Center at the age of 67 years. Born in St. Fintans, Hughie was the son of the late Johnny and Elsie Gale. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law, Nicholas St. Croix; nephew, Timothy; brothers Thomas and Gerard; sister, Theresa (Michael); brother-in-law Hyacinth,

He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories; his wife Edna (nee St. Croix) of 48 years; sons, Jason (Sherry) and Josh (Hope); grandsons, Justin (Mackenzie) and TJ (Alisha); and the many children who called him Poppy Gale, especially Keisha, Tessa and Dwayne. He will also be sadly missed by his mother-in-law, Sadie St. Croix; sisters, Donna, Sharon, and Marilyn (Wayne); brothers, Michael, Lewis (Clara), Bernard (Rita), Brian (Jessie), Hector (Katherine), Brendon, Raymond (Angela) and Danny (Roxanne); nieces Melanie and Madonna (Shawn); his fur baby Luna, plus a very large circle of nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Poppy Gale was a special character who loved to laugh, joke, and carry on. You never knew what he was going to say or do. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed all the activities that came with it like moose hunting, fishing, riding on his quad, and spending quality time on the mountain. His grandkids meant everything to him and he cherished every moment that he spent with them. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre for their care and compassion given to Hughie, especially those on the dialysis unit, you are all angels that walk among us.

In keeping with Hughie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations his Hughie's memory can be made to family.
