It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Helen Marie Sheaves announce her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, January 12 ^th , 2019 at the age of 75 years. Born in Glace Bay, NS, Helen was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Annie Shaw (nee Dicks). She was also predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Phil and Ivy Sheaves (nee Roberts); brothers Gerald (Jean) Shaw, Tom (Jeannette) Shaw, Fabian Shaw, Richard Shaw; sisters Margaret (Harold) Webber, Marie (Hughie) Hynes; brothers-in-law Philip (Emma) Sheaves, David Pink, Kenny Sheaves; infant brothers and sisters-in-law Edith, Marry, Lillian, Gordon and Richard.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving husband of 57 years John (Johnny) Thomas Sheaves; son Johnny (Nikki) Sheaves; daughter Karen (Andy) Kendall both of Port aux Basques, NL; grandchildren Andrew, Madison, Jami, Jodi; brothers Melvin (Myrna) Shaw, Wilfred (Shirley) Shaw; sisters Jeanette (Eric) Murrin, Theresa Pink all of Glace Bay, NS; sisters-in-law Myrtle (Reg) button, Florence (Ronnie) Musseau both of Port aux Basques, NL, Rachel Shaw of Glace Bay, NS; special caregiver Peggy Lawrence; good friends Dave and Donna Clothier of Codroy Valley, NL and Lorne and Grace Wicks of Clarke's Beach, NL, plus a large circle of extended family and friends.

In keeping with Helen's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 15 ^th , 2019 at 2 pm at the Wesley United Church, Channel-Port aux Basques, NL officiated by Joan Chaisson with interment of ashes to follow at Wesley United Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway, NL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wesley United Church.
