It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harvey James Howell announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre on April 16, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Born in Greens Harbour, Trinity Bay, Harvey was the son of the late Walter and Mary (nee Rockwood) Howell. He was also predeceased by his brother Gerald Howell and a large circle of many more brothers and sisters. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his devoted wife Lillian of 60 years, proud father of George (Rose) Howell Grand Prairie Ab, Winston (Bride) Howell Lawrencetown NS, Diane (Marcel) Cabot Fort McMurray AB, John (Sandra Hope) Howell Goose Bay Labrador, Joanne (Oliver) Pickett Indian Bay NL, Sharon (Brian Fifield) Howell Fort McMurray AB. A proud grandfather he will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jeffrey, Rebecca, Danielle, Justin, Jeremy, Amy and Andrew and great grandchildren Jordan, Luke and Adian. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Rita (Wilson) White Greens Harbour, Trinity Bay, brothers and sisters-in-law Jim (Lucy) Hayward, Emily Taylor, Beatrice (Ned) Duhart and Helen Simms all of Port aux Basques NL, plus a large circle of many nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 18 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 19 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from East Haven Funeral Home Inc.. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 2 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., with Rev. Kathleen Anderson officiating. In keeping with Harvey's wishes, cremation followed the funeral service with interment to follow at a later date. Flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
