It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Gertrude (Gertie) Selina Tapp (nee Osmond) announce her peaceful passing at her residence in Port aux Basques, NL on Monday, February 28 ^th , 2022 at the age of 79 years.

Born in Spruce Brook, NL, Gertie was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lillian Osmond (nee Osmond). She was also predeceased by her husband; Leo in 1998, grandson; Jamie, sister; Marjorie, brothers; Leslie, Arthur, Derick, Harrison, Harold, infant brothers; Lloyd, Wilson, infant sisters; Jane and Annie, brothers-in-law; Arthur Cross, Edwin Thomas, daughter-in-law; Debbie Tapp and son-in-law; Vincent Walsh.

As a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will always remain in the hearts of her children; Calvin (Susan), Claude (Emily), Gary, Velda and Lorraine, her precious grandchildren; Katherine (Jason), Jeff (Rebecca), Jason (Katie), Magan and Shilo. She will be sadly missed by her sisters; Margaret Thomas, Sylvia Cross, Sandra (Wade) Laundry, Maxine (Robert) House and brother; Eric (Cynthia) Osmond, great-grandchildren; Christopher, Nora and Landon.

In keeping with Gertie 's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4 ^th and Saturday, March 5 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 6 ^th at 3 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. In urn ment to follow at St. J ames Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH . Due to the latest Government regulations your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo ID, masks and social distancing are required for entry to the visitation and church service .
