It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude Jane Patey (nee Keeping) announces her peaceful passing at Dr. Charles L Legrow health Center on Sunday May 24, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Gertrude was predeceased by her loving husband William Russell (Ross) Patey in April of 2019, her father and mother Frederick and Sarah Jane (nee King) Keeping, daughter Susan Drake in 2014, grandson Derek Patey in 2018, brothers and sisters and many brothers and sisters in law.

She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her children; Annie Patey of Port aux Basques, Russell Patey (Shirley), Elizabeth Hurlbert (Donnie) all of Yarmouth NS, Loretta Osmond (Chris), Alice Hatcher all of Port aux Basques, Gladys Martell (Blair) of Halifax NS and Stephen Patey of Port aux Basques. She will also be fondly remembered by her 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, sisters; Ruth LerRiche of Port aux Basques and Minnie Paddock of Yarmouth NS, sister in law Emily Short, brother in law Isaac (Nora) Patey all of Cape Ray and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Due to the current public health advisory of COVID-19, there will be a private family viewing at East Haven Funeral Home (Downtown Location) which will be followed by a private funeral service on Wednesday May 2 7 , 2 pm at East Haven Funeral Home (Downtown Location) officiated by Rev. Jane Allen, i nterment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill . Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Gertrude can be made to the charity of one's choice.
