With great sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Geraldine (Read) Harvey announce her peaceful passing on January 27, 2026, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center, in her 90th year.

Geraldine, daughter of the late Mildred Read and Clifford Chant, was born on November 8, 1935. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Martin Harvey; her grandparents, Albert and Elsie Read; her sisters Clara (Wallace) Rose, Gertrude (Ralph) Farrell, Lorraine (Gerald) Anderson, and Thelma (George) Piccott; and her brother Maxwell (Alma) Read.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four sons; Max (Donna) Harvey, Garry (Zondra) Harvey, John (Sue) Harvey, and Craig (Joan) Harvey. Geraldine also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren; Jillian (Greg), Michael, Sarah (William), Rebecca, and Laura; her great-grandson Max; step-grandchildren Melanie (Marshall), Raylene (David), Scott (Candace), Byron (Rose), and Sarah (Jeremy); step-great-grandchildren Tori, Samantha, Hayley, Brian, Kara, Aidan, William, Max, and Leo; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Geraldine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life truly revolved around her family, whom she cherished above all else. She found joy in simple pleasures such as going for walks, berry picking, and enjoying a good game of cards. Geraldine loved watching wrestling and hockey and was well known as a wonderful cook who delighted those around her. With her quick wit and lively sense of humor, she often surprised and amused family and friends alike. Geraldine's memory will live on through the family she held so close, and she will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

The family would like to thank all the staff on Lighthouse Lane for their compassion and care.

Family and friends are welcome to visit Friday, January 30th, 2026 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home, Grand Bay, NL. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 31st,  2026 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Kuda Madzime, with burial to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, TCH. In lieu flowers, donations in Geraldine's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.  Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc, 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, 695-2300
