Gerald Lyman
Randell
Mar 21, 1947 — Nov 20, 2025
Corner Brook
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Gerald Lyman Randell announce his sudden passing on November 20th 2025, at the age of 78 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook Newfoundland surrounded by his loving family. Born in Port Rexton, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland Gerald was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Gladys Randell. He is predeceased by his brother Calvert Randell, niece Beverly Randell and mother-in-law Daphne Patey.
Left to Mourn with fond and loving memories is his devoted wife of 53 years, Brenda. He will be dearly missed by his children: Stephen (Sherri) and Chris (Andrea); Grandchildren Matthew and Mya, Brother in law's Doug (Kathy), Randy (Kerri Ann), Keith (Cathy) and Sister in Law Loretta (Edgar) and Rosalie Randell and his Nephew Tony (Denise). His presence will also be missed by as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends. He will be deeply missed by his best friends of 45 years John and Elaine Sooley.
Gerald was a quiet, patient, kind, gentle and very giving individual who had a steady presence in the lives of all that knew him. He loved the simple things in life like the outdoors, friends and family. He enjoyed playing golf, camping, chopping wood, going for a boil up on the side by side, working on projects in the garage and spending time with his friends in Newfoundland and Florida. He especially enjoyed fishing with his best friend John in Trinity Bay during the summer.
He was a special person, even though he was quiet, he would speak up on occasion to lighten up the room kidding around or giving a dry remark. He was a generous and loving man who touched the hearts of all he met and showed his love by sharing his time and knowledge. He was incredibly proud of his children and grand children. He was hard worker, a master of his craft and well know for his skilled work in the community.
Most importantly he enjoyed and loved living his life to the fullest along side his loving wife, Brenda, hardly ever leaving her side.
The family would like to send their sincere gratitude to Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques for their prompt care and the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook for their care and compassion they gave him during his short but courageous battle.
