As we travel the road of life we endure many things, some things change us, some things make us stronger and sometimes we even feel a little weak, but on this road one thing always remains constant and that is the love shown to us by those who are most special in our lives. On Monday March 13, 2017, our husband, dad, poppy, brother, son and most of all our friend Gerald Henry Ingram left us way too soon at the young age of 63 years while on vacation with the love of his life in a place that was very near and dear to them both, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Gerald was predeceased by his mother Wilhelmina Ingram, father in law James Francis and brother in law Henry Maidment. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories is his wife Shirley (nee Francis) of 41 years. A proud father and grandfather he will be sadly missed by his sons Troy Ingram (Krista) of Port aux Basques, Jonathon Ingram of Red Deer AB. He will also be forever missed by his precious grand son Liam Ingram and precious granddaughter Adele Ingram whom he loved unconditionally. Uncle G also had a very soft spot for his niece Emily Francis .Gerald will be sadly missed by his father Gerald Ingram Sr, sisters and brothers; Jane McDonald (Paul) of Mount Pearl NL, Wilfred Ingram (Judy Gosse) Whitbourne NL, Penny Lou Osmond (Ronald Penny) of Barrie ON, Robin Ingram (Julia) of Port aux Basques and Philip Ingram (Coreena) of Mount Pearl NL. He will forever remain in the hearts of his mother in law Maude Francis, sisters and brothers in law; Catherine Dominie of Toronto, Sarah Lawrence (Berkley) of Carbonear NL, Jeffrey Francis (Donna) of Port aux Basques, Dianne Maidment of Gander NL, Lewis Francis of Lower Sackville NS and a large circle of extended family and many friends. Gerald, a well known member of the community joined the Channel-Port aux Basques fire department at the age of 16, still an active member he recently completed his 46th year. He was also regularly seen helping out with minor hockey. An avid out doorsman, hunting and fishing were his passion. The Chicago Blackhawks had his support, as did his friends and family. Gerald's smile and sense of humor lit up the room. The family will be receiving friends at East Haven Funeral Home on Sunday March 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Monday March 20, 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church, officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey. To honour Gerald's wishes cremation will follow and internment will take place at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Gerald can be made to the Channel-Port aux Basques Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, 695-2300. www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
