On Thursday, April 7 ^th , 2022, our hearts were broken and our lives forever changed as our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Georgina (Georgie) Winnifred Parsons (nee Keeping) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre just one day prior to her 81 ^st birthday. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Georgie was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Keeping (nee Rideout). She was also predeceased by her husband; Boyd Parsons, precious granddaughter; Gina, brother; Reg Keeping, father and mother-in-law; Herbert and Kathleen Parsons (nee Way), brothers-in-law; Austin Parsons, Rev. Ralph Billard and Gerald Tapp.

Georgie leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and precious memories her loving children; Susan Anderson (Dwight) of Sarnia, ON, Cavell Parsons (Mike Mullins) of Corner Brook, NL, Robert Parsons (Bernardine Osmond) of Port aux Basques, NL, Stephen Parsons (Dawn Morrison) of Cape Breton, NS, Lois Parsons (Jim Poole) of Port aux Basques, NL, grandchildren; Zachary Anderson (Michelle) of London, ON, Kerilyn Baker (Greg) of Port aux Basques, NL, Michael Parsons (Wendy) of Sarnia, ON, Gregory Parsons (Amber Chunyk) of Ingonish, NS, Megan Meade (Riley Dubé) of Port aux Basques, NL, great-grandchildren; Raichael, Olivia, Joshua, Lauren, step-grandchildren; Sheldine Osmond and Kirstin Chislett.

She will forever remain in the hearts of her siblings; Kay Billard of St. John's, NL, Viola Parsons (Albert) of Port aux Basques, NL, Dennis Keeping (Alice) of O'Regans, NL, Dallas Hardy (Art) of Port aux Basques, NL, Dulcie Tapp of Kitchener, ON, Joanne Moss (Bern) of Gould's, NL and Betty Keeping of Port aux Basques, NL.

She will also be fondly remembered by her brothers-in-law; Jim Parsons (Edith) of Port aux Basques, NL, Dave Parsons (Linda) of Oshawa, ON and her beloved puppy Skittles of whom she adored, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Georgie was a very active member of her community. She spent many years in the Girl Guide movement where she achieved the rank of Guiding Commissioner. She spent insurmountable time running and supporting the Artaban Church Camps where she was known to most as "Camp Mom". She then became a family support worker for more than twenty years and worked on the Southwest Coast area. Georgie was also a Sunday school teacher and supporter of many winter carnival's. She spent many countless hours volunteering at the Port aux Basques Lion's Club as a Lioness where she proudly achieved lifetime membership. She was also on the board of directors for the local group home. She was very proud of her community and took great pride in playing an active role in it. She will be sadly missed remain in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8 ^th from 7-9 pm, continuing on Saturday, April 9 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 10 ^th at 2 pm from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. At the request of the family, a mask is strongly recommended. In keeping with Georgie's wishes, cremation will follow. Inurnment to take place at a later date. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Georgie can be made to St. James Anglican Church or the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Foundation.
