It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of George Edwin (Ed) Thomas announce his peaceful passing at his residence in Cape Ray, NL on Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at the age of 82 years. Ed was the son the late Arthur and Mary Thomas (nee Simms). He was also predeceased by his son; Lionel Thomas, grandson; Ryan Warren, brother; Fred Thomas, sisters Minnie Osmond and Margaret Baker.

Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife of 59 years; Margaret Thomas (nee Osmond), children; Danny (Sylvia) Thomas of Fort McMurray, AB, Denise (Alfred) Seaward of Mount Uniacke, NS, Leroy (Trixie) Thomas of Anchor Point, NL, Evelyn (Derek) Clarke of Port aux Basques, NL, Harrison (Tina) Thomas of Saint Catharines, ON, Laverne (Tommy) Anderson of Cape Ray, NL, Edwina Thomas (Jason Osmond) of Eastern Passage, NS, Lillian (Wally) Lawrence of Port aux Basques, NL, Georgina Thomas (Chris Rudderham) of Cherhill, AB and Lucas Thomas (Amber Kettle) of Port aux Basques, NL.

He will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren; Clinton, Megan, Candace, Bradley, Nakita, Ava, Mitchell, Heather, Kristen, Dylan, Ian, Chantal, Shane, Jonathan, Alexia, Kaitlyn, Carly, Jade, Jenna, Mataeo, Jayden, Keenan, great-grandchildren; Hudson, Nash, Olivia, Jaxson, Leah, Jayla, Owen, Dylan, Kiyana, Heidi, Thomas, Sadie.

He also leaves behind his brother; Douglas Thomas of Annapolis Valley NS, sister; Mary Dales of Cambridge, ON, special nephew and friend; Percey (Gina) Osmond and his beloved furry friend Axel, plus a very large circle of many nieces, nephews, extended family and life-long friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25th at 2 p.m. from St. John The Evangelist Church in Cape Ray officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Due to the latest Government regulations your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo ID, masks and social distancing are required for entry to the visitation and church service. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Ed can be made to the charity of one's choice.
