Frank
Osmond
Jul 31, 1950 — Aug 17, 2024
Our lives were forever changed on August 17, 2024 when we lost our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Frank Osmond at the age of 74.
Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Frank was the son of the late Roy and Frances Osmond. Frank was also predeceased by his parents in-law; James and Winifred Bennett; brothers, Gordon (Goog), Ray, Dennis and Scott; brothers-in-law, Raymond Bird, Clarie Horne and Bob Levy; sisters in law, Betty Horne and Gloria Bond.
Frank leaves to mourn with a lifetime of special memories, his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Carrie; daughter, Treena (Godfrey) of Cambridge Ontario; sons, Darin (Amy) and Stephen, both of Port aux Basques, NL; as well as his grandchildren, Nicholas, Tyler, Jenna and Allie; plus a large family and circle of friends.
Frank worked at Marine Atlantic on the vessels for 42 years, leaving a legacy of hard work and leadership. He loved watching the Leafs play hockey and being the cameraman for the Port aux Basques Mariners. He loved music and playing his disco with his son back in the day. Frank was a jack of all trades and would extend help whenever asked. He was selfless, generous and one of the kindest people you ever had the pleasure of knowing.
The family would like to thank Dr.Blecher, Dr. Thomas, and Dr. Nikahd as well as the nurses and staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre for the care and compassion given to Frank. Special thanks to our friends and family who have been by our side during this difficult time.
There will be a private family visitation on Monday, August 19th from 7-9 PM. Family and friends are welcomed to visit on Tuesday, August 20th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at East Haven Funeral Home, 57 Grand Bay Road. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 21st at 11:00 am from St. James Anglican Church officiated by Rev Jane Allen. In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation will follow with internment taking place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory can be made to a charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home Inc. 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, 695-2300 www.easthavenfuneralhome.com
