It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernest "Lloyd" Horwood announces his passing on Thursday, May 7 ^th , 2020 at his residence in Lewisporte, NL at the age of 86 years. Lloyd was born in Twillingate, NL to Frederick and Lillian (Hull) Horwood, second eldest of seven children. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, son Larry, brothers Maxwell (Geraldine), Ronald (Audrey), & Wilson (Minnie).

His life-long career was working for Transport Canada as a Radio Technical Operator and Electronic Technician on several coastal stations in NL including White Point, Labrador, Bonavista, Port aux Basques and Comfort Cove. Lloyd embraced the bountiness of all of what the land and sea has to offer. He was a gifted artist, showing his talent with paintings and carvings. Garden songbirds were his favorite friends.

Lloyd leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Betty (Hill) Horwood, children Marilyn & Karen (Rick), grandchildren Stephen (Meegan) & Trudy (Paul), step-grandchildren Matthew & Samantha, and great-grandchildren Kaedan & Theodore, siblings Eric (Irene), Marvyn (Barbara) & sister Joyce as well as cousins and many nephews and nieces.

Due to the current public health advisory of COVID-19, there will be a private family viewing at East Haven Funeral Home which will be followed by a private family graveside service on Monday, May 11 ^th , 2 pm at Wesley United Cemetery, TCH, officiated by Joan Chaisson.
