It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emily Jane Battiste (nee Lace) announces her passing on Monday, February 25 ^th , 2019 at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL at the age of of 88 years. Born in Rencontre East, NL, Emily was the daughter of the late Simeon and Eliza Lace (nee Strickland). She was also predeceased by her husband John Battiste in 2007; father and mother-in-law John and Elizabeth Battiste (nee Osmond); daughter Linda Deanna; brothers Edward Lace, Ned Lace, Clyde Lace, William (Rebecca) Lace; sisters Marion (Art) Evans, Sadie Leamon; brothers-in-law Charles (Alfreda) Battiste, Reginal Caines, Thomas (Jane) Battiste; sisters-in-law Lillian Lace, Olive (Gordon) Clarke, Molly (James) McNeil and Lillian (Alberta) Rogers.

Emily leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving daughters Cora (Art) Kettle of Port aux Basques, NL, Elizabeth (Willoughby) Bolt of Grand Le Pierre, NL , Florence (Jim) Cochrane of Paradise, NL; son Johnny (Kimberly) Battiste of Port aux Basques, NL; g randchildren Dana (Sandra) Kettle, Deanna (Alvin) Hickey, Jamie (Karen) Bolt, Cindy (Darren) Kettle, Kimberly Cochrane, Kevin (Lesly) Cochrane, Megan (Corey) Keeping, Jodi e Battiste, Mallory Carter (Tayl e n Musseau) ; great-grandchildren Daniel Kettle, Angelina Kettle, A.J. Hickey, Saige Bolt, Riley Bolt, Amber Kettle, Nicholas Leamon, T.J. Visitation taking place on Wednesday, February 27 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. In keeping with Emily's wishes, cremation will follow. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1 ^st at 2 pm from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques, NL officiated by Dean Katherine Short assisted by Deacon Jane Allen with interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL.
