Elizabeth
Harvey
Oct 2, 1930 — May 22, 2024
With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grand mother, great grand mother and great great grand mother, Elizabeth Harvey (nee Caines) at the age of 93.
Elizabeth (Liz) was the daughter of the late Ann Bryan, father George Caines and stepfather William Bryan. She was per-deceased by her husband Leander Harvey; Daughters Ann, Rosie and Mary; son Wayne; Son in law Gary, Don, Walter and Donald; great grandson, Ben; Brothers Emanuel, Seaward, Henry and Fred Bryan ; Sisters, Debbie and Mary.
With fond and loving memories she leaves behind her children; Tommy (Marilyn), Junior (Debbie), Eileen (Dana), Susie (Allen), Norma (Dean), Vince (Tina), Doreen (Dion), Marilyn (Paul) and Joy (Jason). Twenty two grand children, 31 great grand children and one great great grandchild; siblings, Willie, June (Calvin) and Janie; and many extended family and friends.
"Big Nan" as her grand children called her, spent most of her younger years being a devoted mother and an outstanding grandmother. She took great pride in her family. Liz was an active member of the ACW, LOBA, Seniors 50 plus Club and a very active member in her church as she served as the Ministers Warden, Lay Reader and as a Holy Eucharist Minister.
When visiting Liz in her home, you could find her cooking meals or baking goodies, if not she would be in her chair knitting. She would never turn down a good game of cards. But her most favorite thing was having a house full of her children, grand children and great grand children.
Special thanks to the staff at Long Term Care for the five and half years for the awesome care given to our mother. Special thanks to Dr. Graham for her excellent care. We give special thanks to doctors nurses and staff of Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Center and a special thank you to Vera, Shirley and Mamie for being the best room mates to mom.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 23rd from 7-9 PM and Friday, May 24 from 2-9 PM at Holy Spirit Church in Isle aux Morts, NL. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev. Ken Abbott. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Liz's memory can be made to Holy Spirit Church.
