It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Edna Bateman (nee Keeping) announces her passing on Monday, July 22 ^nd , 2019 at the Dr. Charles L. Le G row Health Centre at the age of 80 years. Born in Burnt Islands, NL, Edna was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (nee Herritt) Keeping.

She was also predeceased by her husband Clyde; father and mother-in-law Ernest and Louisa (nee Warren) Bateman; sons Keith Bateman, Kevin Bateman; brothers Reginal Keeping, John Chaulk ; son-in-law Thomas Gillis; brothers-in-law Angus Keeping, Minter Caines, Allen (Hattie) Bateman, Alexander (Annie) Bateman and sister-in-law Naomi (Ted) Feaver.

She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her loving son Wade (Helen) Bateman of Port aux Basques, NL; daughters Marilyn Gillis of St. John's, NL, Millie (Conrad) Dunford, Kathy (Thomas) Cutler both of Burgeo, NL, Maxine Bateman (Daniel Dominix) of Beaver Bank, NS. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sisters Ethel Keeping of Burnt Islands, NL, Hilda Caines, Ruth (Carl) Buffett both of Port aux Basques, NL, Helen (Cyrus) Graham of Lower Sackville, NS; sister-in-law Evelyn Keeping of Burnt Islands, NL; companion Bob Chaission; special caretakers Lisa Power and Tara Razack plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 23 ^rd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The f uneral service will take place on Wednes day, July 24 ^th at 2 pm from the Wesley United Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Joan Chaisson, interment will follow at Wesley United Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edna can be made to a charity of one's choice.
