It is with sadness that the family of the late Doris Anderson announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 at the age of 92 years. Born in Codroy, NL Doris was the daughter of late James and Harriett (Nee Collier) Hillard. She was also predeceased by her husband, George Anderson; son, Leo; son in-law Elias; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand mother and sister, she leaves to mourn, her daughters; Marcella, Margaret (Jerry), Diane (Robert); son, Len; as well as grandchildren, Barbara, Marilyn, Nora, Sherry (Greg), Shelene, Daniel (Karen), Justin (Alana), Madison, April, and Aiden; great grandchildren, Stacey, David, Maisey, Brysten, Matthew, Colby, Kyra, Mitchel, Jayden, Jackson, Rylan, Zackery, Hanna, and Amber. She will also be dearly missed by her sister Joan and her sister in-laws, Minnie, and Genievie as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and especially her faithful fur baby, Fluffy.

Doris was a warm-hearted woman who cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. Her laughter often filled the room during card games, especially when playing her favorite—Jumbo. But what truly brought her joy was cooking supper for her loved ones; nothing made her happier than gathering everyone around the table to share a meal she'd lovingly prepared. Doris's home was a place of comfort, where good food, great company, and plenty of cards were always in abundance.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Rev. Josh Haggstrom, and Rev. Mary Rose Colbourne.

Family and friends are welcome to visit Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Holy Trinity Church, Codroy, NL. Funeral service will take place Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Josh Haggstrom, burial to follow at Holy Trinity Graveyard. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations in Doris' memory can be made to the Holy Trinity Memorial Fund.
