Skeard
Nov 6, 1960 — Sep 28, 2025
Stephenville
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend Diane Elizabeth Skeard formally of Port Aux Basques, resided in Stephenville for the last 41 years, passed peacefully on September 28th 2025, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL with her loving family by her side at the age of 64. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, Daughters Katrina (Cory) of Corner Brook NL, and Kayla of Trois-Ruisseaux NB, and son Jonathan (Allison) of CBS NL and two grandchildren she adored Autumn and Lauren.
She will forever be missed by her brothers and sisters: Violet (Martin) Cormier, Margaret (Chris) Derraugh, Audrey (Sonny) Purcell, Susan Skeard, Raymond Skeard, Robert (Kim) Skeard, brother-in-law, Gary Tapp and special niece Michelle Coley, plus a very large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Diane was the daughter of the late Clifford Skeard and Irene Skeard (nee Osmond). She was also predeceased by her brother John Skeard, sister Debbie Tapp, brother-in-law Dennis Pike, Uncle Garland (Daisy) Skeard, Uncle Burt Osmond, and Nephew Dion Cormier.
Diane was a beautiful, brave, kind, and resilient soul who was selfless and would help anyone she could. She loved caring for the elderly and disabled as a personal care worker and took pride in her work. When she was not working or spending time at the beach or the park, she was spending it making memories with her children, grandchildren, and relatives. Diane enjoyed joking around and laughing with her family and friends, and her sense of humour and spark for life will be missed greatly.
In keeping with Diane's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at east haven funeral home with interment to follow at salvation army cemetery Port aux Basques, NL. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the salvation army cemetery of Port aux Basques.
Remember me when I am gone
But not with sorrow, pain and grief
Think of me as a turning leaf
That in the autumn falls from its branch
To be born again in spring
And live forever in your heart
