It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Daphne Ruth Patey (nee Melbourne) announce her peaceful passing at her residence in Port aux Basques, NL, on Wednesday, October 27 ^th , 2021 at the age of 89 years. Born in Grand Bruit, NL, Daphne was the daughter of the late Hartley and Elsie Melbourne (nee Neil). She was also predeceased by her brothers; Doug Melbourne, Cecil (Susie) Melbourne, Allan (Cornelia) Melbourne and sister; Loretta (Bill) Skeard.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving children; Brenda (Gerald) Randell, Keith (Catherine) Patey. Loretta (Edgar) LeRiche, Randy Patey, Doug (Kathy) Patey, grandchildren; Stephen, Christopher, Angela, Ben, Michelle, Tammy, Tara, Ryan, and Alycia. Daphne also leaves behind twelve great-grandchildren; Matthew, Mya, Brianna, Brooklyn, Carter, Addison, Emerson, Cameron, Kalan, Kaylie, Jacob, and Casey, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was well known for her enjoyment of playing cards and bingo.

Daphne will forever remain in the hearts of her caregivers; Leona Kendall and Jennifer Osmond. A very sincere appreciation for the care and compassion shown to her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 29 ^th , at 2 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Due to the latest Government regulations your Newfoundland VaxPass, photo ID and masks are required for entry to the visitation and church service.
