Corner Brook

Obituary

With broken hearts, the family of the late Courtney Lynn announces her passing at the Western Memorial Hospital, Corner Brook, NL, on December 21, 2025, at the age of 25 years.  Born in Port aux Basques, Courtney was the daughter of Krista (Dawn) and Stephen (Jennifer). She was predeceased by her Grandparents; Lena Symes, Great Nan Eva Bowdridge, Great nan Dowding, Vera Stoodley, Aunt Beatrice, Lyla Rose, Clarence and Nina Skeard; plus many aunts and uncles; and waiting for her at rainbow bridge was Marlye.

Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories, her parents Krista (Dawn) and Stephen (Jennifer), Her true companion, Kirk, his children; Scarlett and Kolson. Brother, Wesley, Fur baby Piper. Best friend who was like a sister, Morgan and her three beautiful nieces, Via, Violet and Victoria. Grand Parents: Marilyn and Aiden (Nanny and Poppy Matthews), Thelma (Nan B), Betty (Big Don), Eric Stoodley. God Parents: Aunt Tracy and Uncle Tyson, Jody, Uncle Jamie (Kyrstal); cousins, Jonathan and Jordan; plus a very large group of aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, including special friends Randie, Chloe, Kelsey and Ethan.

Courtney was a beautiful young lady whose warmth and spirit drew people to her effortlessly; a true social butterfly who was deeply loved by all who knew her. She found joy in simple pleasures—getting lost in a good book, watching Grey's Anatomy, and spending time with her dog, for whom she had a special love. Headstrong and fiercely independent, Courtney lived honestly and openly, with no back doors—she spoke her mind, stood her ground, and never shied away from being herself. Known for her playful sense of humour, she loved pranking those around her, always bringing laughter wherever she went. Though some people were only part of her journey for a short time, Kirk held a special place in her story, as the one who helped bring the light back into her eyes. Courtney's vibrant personality, strength, and laughter will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
