It is with fond and loving memories that the family of the late Clara Hatcher (nee Courtney) announced her passing on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 in Channel-Port aux Basques at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre.

She leaves behind with many precious memories her daughters; Neita (Jerry) Billard, Shirley (Wayne) Gullage, her grandchildren; Stephen (Joanne Cox) Gullage, Christopher (Krista Harding) Gullage, Joy (Shawn) Skinner, Gordie Billard, great-grandchildren; Leah Seaward, Paige Billard, Aimee Seward, Travis Gullage and step great-grandaughter; Kaileigh Skinner. Clara also leaves behind her sister; Shirley Avery (nee Courtney) plus many special nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her infant daughter; Florence Hatcher, her parents; Matthew and Hilda Courtney (nee Herritt), her husband; Gordon Hatcher, her special companion; Jack Elms, brothers; Robert (Sarah) Courtney, Thomas Courtney and sister; Bessie (Reg) Seymour.

Clara was a kind and loving soul who enjoyed socializing, playing cards and bingo. She was as sharp as a tack and could be as stubborn as a mule but mostly loved having a laugh with those she loved.

We will be forever grateful for all your kindness and support.

We ask that people hold on to those memories that they shared with her and continue to celebrate her life by joining us at East Haven Funeral Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques on Sunday, May 22nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, May 23rd from the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts from 10 am to 12 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23rd at 2 pm from the Holy Spirit Church in Isle aux Morts officiated by Rev. Edward Coleman. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clara's memory can be made to the Hillside Haven Cemetery Committee.
