Obituary

The love of a mother is the best love that we could ever find. She is the one who watches us grow from birth to adulthood, often times doing without so we could have the things that she knew we needed. She teaches us many things about life but most importantly instills in us the importance of the love between a mother and her family and with saddened hearts we announce that on Tuesday July 4, 2017 our family chain was broken when our mother Charlotte Victoria Courtney passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 81 years. Born in Lapolie, Charlotte was the daughter of the late John and Priscilla Francis. She was also predeceased by her first husband Clyde Bateman, second husband Philip Courtney, great grandson Rylan Francis, brothers; Willis Eric, Cecil, Peter, Bill, infant Twins Willis and Percy, sisters; Emma Francis, Mary Jane Francis, and a large circle of brother and sister in laws. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories are her children; Clyde (Joyce) Bateman of Lapoile, Joanne (Bill) Francis of Port aux Basques, Gary Bateman (Denise) of Rose Blanche and Todd (Sandi) Courtney of Old Perlican NL. She will be sadly missed by her 9 grandchildren; Marina, Christopher, Marigold, Gerard, Angie, Martin, Courtney, Blake and Reid, 8 great grandchildren; Brandon, Dylan, Jada, Hannah, Peyton, Kaylie, Graysen and Max. She will also hold a special place in the hearts of her brothers and sisters; Garfield Francis, Alma Warren, Jack Francis (Alma), Susie Thorne and a large circle of nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws and many friends.
