Our mother was a force in her own right, she was quite but fierce, loving and kind. She gave us all she could give, she had a beautiful soul and she was so silly and had a way of making you laugh, she liked that. She could take a joke and give one and her laughter was infectious even though we thought she was bad in the silliest of ways, she was good...… she was loved for that.
Life may not have been always easy but she worked hard at home taking care of all of us. We were her life, her passion. She would tell stories of her life and she had many, but the stories she told of how she met dad we have to love cause we wouldn't have existed. She would attend church because of him when he did service, I'm sure she was charmed by his good looks. They got Married and moved from Burnt Islands her home to Port aux Basques and raised a family, and she was all about family she made sure every weekend we pile in the car and Drive to her Burnt islands home. She was so much more then I could ever relay and I'm sure my sisters and Brother will agree.
Mom didn't read a lot but she enjoyed music and poems, she had one in a framed on the kitchen wall.
The Mother poem;
M is for the million things she gave me
O means only that's she's growing old
T is for the tears she shed to save me
H is for her heart purest of gold
E is for her eyes with love light shining
R means right, and right she'll always be.
She was a mother who meant the world to us and she was all of that poem and much more.
Mom you will be greatly missed by many because you were loved by more then you knew. Your name just got it's final dot of ink in that book of life bringing you home and now we your children and your husband have to let you go and it's hard.
Sending you home to the arms of Jesus and your loved ones who have gone before is the sweetest reward.
Mother, wait for us there, we will be expecting to see your wonderful smile.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff and both the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, Western Health and the Long Term Palliative Care Unit as well as the ambulance drivers for the care and compassion given to our Mom.
