It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Calvin Strickland of Port aux Basques NL, announce his peaceful passing on October 3rd, 2023 at the age of 73 years at the Long Term Care, Western Health, in Corner Brook, NL. Calv was the son of the late Reginald and Myrtle Strickland (nee Engram). He was also predeceased by his brother Hayward; parents in-law, Annette and James Courtney; brother in-law Willie Seaward.

Leaving to mourn with precious memories; his wife of 21 years, Brenda; his 3 step-children, Jimmy (Kim), Dion (Stephanie) and Trevor (Vanessa) Ellis, 8 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren, of which he adored. He will be forever missed by his siblings; Winnie (Roy) Parsons, Lloyd (Mary), Norm (Kathy) and Karl (Cathy) Strickland; sister's in-law, Faye and Louise, brother in-law, Jack (Wanda) Courtney, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Calv loved to play cards and enjoyed a good ol' game of darts in his brothers Karl's garage. He spent many countless hours on the government wharf chatting and reminiscing the old days with his friends. The family would like to send thanks and appreciation to the staff of Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre during the time when Calv stayed there, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at the Long Term Care in Corner Brook. The love and care that Calvin received while there was second to none, and could never be measured beyond compare. We love you all.

In keeping with Calv's wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, on Friday, October 6th, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church on Saturday, October 7th at 11 AM, officiated by Rev Jane Allen. Internment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, NL. Donations in Calv's memory can be made to the family.
