It is with great sadness that the family of the late Blanche Elizabeth Strickland (nee Roberts) announces her passing on Sunday December 18, at Dr. Charles L Legrow Health Center at the age of 90 years. Born in Hermitage NL, Blanche was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Roberts. She was also predeceased by her husband Garnet, son Robert, brother Hartley (Eva) Roberts, sisters; Ivy (Philip) Sheaves, Effie (Harold) Rose and many brothers and sisters in law. She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories her loving sons; Garnet Wayne Strickland Codroy Valley, Wesley Strickland Stephenville, Danny Strickland (Kim) Halifax NS. A proud grandmother and great grandmother she will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Brent (Susan), Jillian (Tyler), Carlee (Chris), Christa (Marty), Alicia (Trevor), Danielle (Frank), great grandchildren; Lincoln, Ryder, Chelsea, Dylan, Izabella, Amber. She will also be fondly remembered by sister in law Dorothy Sheaves Port aux Basques, her three special friends Jessie Collier, Dorothy Law, Irene Billard all of Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation taking place today from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services taking place tomorrow Tuesday December 20, 3 pm at St. James Anglican Church, Channel officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey, interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in memory of Blanche can be made to the charity of one's choice.
